Notifications Admin users can view bounced email message details to help troubleshoot and resolve delivery problems.

Bounce Type

What it Means

Undetermined

We received a bounce but couldn’t determine the reason.

Permanent (Hard Bounce)

A permanent failure; the recipient marked the message as spam or otherwise indicated not to send them additional messages. User will be marked as suppressed, and future messages will not be sent to this recipient.

Transient (Soft Bounce)

A temporary issue; delivery may succeed later. Subtypes indicate specific causes like full mailbox, content, or size issues.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your organization's Notifications Admin site (http://notifications.civicplus.com/[orgname]/admin)

  2. Click the Sent Messages tab Sent messages option in the left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Click on the desired message Select a message.

  4. Select the Email Activity tabEmail activity tab.

  5. Select a bounced event

  6. View the Bounce Type and Diagnostic Code on the Message Log Details
