Saved Payment Methods

Prev Next

Saved Payment Methods is a phrase used to describe having a payment method stored so that users do not have to re-enter their information upon checkout. It can also be used for automated billing and invoicing. A saved payment method could include a credit card, debit card, PayPal account, or bank account. The supported payment methods depend on your merchant settings and the features that CivicPlus has integrated.

Important Note

  • CivicPlus does not store any cardholder data.

Tokenization

During the Payments checkout process, when a user goes to enter their card information, they enter this information directly into fields or a page hosted by the payment gateway. The gateway then returns a token to CivicPlus Payments that can be used to charge the user in the future.
