Set Up Tempus EMV Devices for Payments

This article will give an overview of how to procure and set up devices for Tempus.

Important Note

  • Your devices must be purchased directly from Tempus. The CivicPlus integration was tested using the Igenico Lane 5000. Learn more about the supported devices.

Prerequisites

  1. Download and install PaymentMate

  2. Physically set up your device. It needs to be powered on and plugged into a USB.

Instructions

  1. Open the Registry Editor application  Registry editor app.

  2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and select SOFTWARE software folder.

  3. Open WOW6432Node wownode.

  4. Right-click on Tempus Technologies and select New and then Key tempus new key.

  5. Name the folder InteractiveAPI  interactive api.

    Note:

    Double-check your spelling. The folder name must match exactly.

  6. Right-click on InteractiveAPI and select New and String Value new string value.

  7. Rename the string to EnableHTTP Enable HTTP.

  8. Right-click on EnableHTTP and select Modify Modify option in the menu.

  9. Enter 1 in the Value data field and click OK  Value data.

  10. Close the Registry Editor Application and go to C:\Spectrum\Utilities\CertificateInstaller in your File Explorer  

    Note: This could be a different location based on where you installed PaymentMate.

  11. Right-click on importcerts and select Run as Administrator Run as administrator option in the menu.

  12. After the batch file finishes running, open PaymentMate (you should have already activated your installation) and select Configure  Configure button on the paymentmate screen.

  13. Navigate to the Peripherals/Receipts tab and select Configure PeripheralsConfigure peripherals.

  14. On the Station Settings tab, select Interactive API under Mode of Operation  Station Settings tab with Interactive API selected.

  15. On the PIN Pad tab, select your device: for the Lane 5000, select Ingenico iSC(250/480) Ingenico iSC option on the PIN Pad tab.

  16. Select your COM Port COM Port of Serial Device dropdown.

    Note: Your COM Port can be confirmed by checking your Device Manager.

  17. Click OKtempus ok.

  18. Allow your device to perform its updates. This can take several minutes. Once complete, you are ready to try a test transaction.
