Set Up the Pay Tray App for Heartland

This article will show you how to set up the Pay Tray App for Heartland.

Important Notes

  • This article uses the PAX S300 as an example. Please consult with Heartland if using a different device.

  • In order to test a transaction, you will need to verify with CivicPlus that your payment gateway has been configured in CivicPlus Payments. Once that is complete, you will be able to run a transaction.

  1. Navigate to the directory in which you have installed the Pay Tray App

    Note: The default installation path is C:\Program Files (x86)\CivicPlus\CpPay Tray App

  2. Search for the application and select Run as Administrator Run as administrator.

    Note: You must always run the app as an administrator. If you do not, you will receive the following error when you process transactions:Transaction Processing Error.

  3. Find the app in the Windows tray, and right-click to select SettingsWindows tray, settings.

  4. Click to expand the Heartland section of the configuration dialogue Expand heartland.

    Note: You will need the IP address and port of the device you are trying to communicate with.

  5. Type the port number into the HeartlandSecureSubmitPort field Port number.

    Note: The default port number is 10009.

  6. Find the IP address of the device

    1. Go into the admin settings of the device

    2. Navigate to Communication using the arrow keys

    3. Enter the password

    4. Select LAN Parameters using the arrow keys

    5. Touch IP Address to view the device's IP Address

  7. Enter the IP Address into the HeartlandSecureSubmitIpAddress field IP address.

    Note: Do not add any preceding zeroes to the IP address. For example, 192.168.001.051 would be entered as 192.168.1.51.

  8. Click SaveSave button.

  9. Run a test transaction
