If you’re ready to start accepting payments through our platform, we’ve made the setup process simple and guided. This article outlines everything you need to know to get up and running, including the onboarding steps, required documents, and what to expect along the way.

What’s Included in Setup

When you choose to use CivicPlus Payments, we’ll help configure everything you need:

  • A dedicated merchant account (we manage this for you)

  • Access to our integrated Payments Admin Portal

  • Support for credit/debit cards and ACH payments, along with recurring payments

  • Device setup (if needed) and software integration

What You’ll Need to Provide

To comply with regulatory and underwriting requirements, we’ll ask for a few business and authorized representative (individual) information during onboarding.

Organization Details:

  • Legal Business Name and DBA (Doing Business As) Name

  • Business Address

  • EIN or Tax ID number

Authorized Representative Details:

  • Name

  • Personal Address

  • Email and Phone Number

  • Date of Birth and SSN (Not applicable for Government or Public Corporations)

Financial Details:

  • Average transaction Amount, Maximum Transaction Amount, and Monthly Sales Volume

  • Bank Routing and Account number (including voided check or bank letter confirming the routing and account number)

What to Expect | Timeline

Here’s a general timeline for onboarding with CivicPlus Payments:

  1. Submit Information: Fill out our Payments Onboarding Form with the details above.

  2. Merchant Account Review and Approval: We review and verify the information provided by you in the Onboarding Form. Then, we create your merchant account.

    1. Typical Time: 1 to 3 Business Days

  3. Payment Configuration Setup: We will work with you to set up your payment configuration, including your preferred naming convention.

    1. Typical Time: 1 to 3 Business Days

  4. Testing: You will be given instructions to begin testing your new payment solution.

  5. Start Accepting Payments: You’re ready to process transactions!
