Retire, View, and Unretire a Building | Elevate

This article shows how to retire a building. It also shows how to unretire a building. When a building is no longer needed, retiring it helps maintain accurate and organized data. This process removes the building from active use. But this guide also shows how to view retired buildings. If needed, it explains how to unretire them. This brings the buildings back into active use.

How to Retire a Building

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Go to Asset Management, expand Property Management, and select Search

    The Asset Management and Property Management menu is selected. Search under Property Management is highlighted.

  3. In the Search field, type the details of the property you want to edit, and search

  4. In the search results, find the property you are looking for. Then click the Edit Record icon under Action

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the parcel, and expand the Buildings section. Then click on the Building Number you want to retire

  6. Select the checkbox "Do not show this building in the address picker. The building is retired, combined with other buildings, or converted to a property".

  7. Click Update Record

How to View a Retired Building

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Go to Asset Management, expand Property Management, and select Search

  3. In the Search field, type the details of the property you want to edit, and search

  4. In the search results, find the property you are looking for. Then click the Edit Record icon under Action

  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the parcel, and expand the Buildings section

  6. Click to enable the "Display retired buildings and suites" toggle. Retired buildings are shown in black with the text struck through

How to Unretire a Building

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Go to Asset Management, expand Property Management, and select Search

  3. In the Search field, type the details of the property you want to edit, and search

  4. In the search results, find the property you are looking for. Then click the Edit Record icon under Action

  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the parcel, and expand the Buildings sectionThe Buildings section is shown with its title highlighted.

  6. Click to enable the "Display retired buildings and suites" toggle. Click on the retired Building Number you want to unretireThe display retired buildings and suites toggle is turned on.

  7. Scroll down, and uncheck the box for "Do not show this building in the address picker. The building is retired, combined with other buildings, or converted to a property."

  8. Click Update Record
