Users can view and manage unread messages from the public portal on the Permitting System Dashboard. The Messages tile shows permits that have new messages from applicants or portal users. From the tile, users can open the related permit record to view the message details. After reviewing the message, users can mark it as read to remove it from the unread message list.
Instructions
Sign in to your site
Select Permitting System, and click Dashboard:

Navigate to the Messages tile. If there are unread messages, the tile will display the number of unread messages and the text ‘Permits with Unread Messages from Portal’. Click More info:

The unread message dashboard will expand. Click on a permit ID:

Navigate to the Status tab. Click to expand Record Actions:

To view a message, click Details:

View the contents of the message:

To remove the message from unread status, click the Mark as Read box:

A pop-up window will confirm that the message status was updated successfully:
