Occupancy tables can figure out the project cost. This is done inside a permit. They use the ICC's (International Code Council) occupancy and construction classes for this. Before using this feature, you must populate the rates in your occupancy table.
Instructions
Sign in to your site
Navigate to the Permitting System. Click List, then select a record:

Click Edit:

Select the Property tab:

Click the link for Project Value:

When the pop-up appears, click the Add Row button:

Fill out the row, and a Calculated Value will appear using the occupancy table, construction, and occupancy classes. If no value appears, that combination was not populated in the table. You can also adjust the value by entering a Declared Value:

Area: Enter or select the area of construction. For example, 1st Floor
Square Footage: Enter the total square footage for the selected area
Occupancy Table: Select the occupancy table used to calculate construction costs
Multiplier: Enter the multiplier applied to the unit value
Construction Type: Select the construction type for the area
Occupancy Type: Select the occupancy classification for the area
Unit Value: Displays the cost per square foot based on the selected table and type
Calculated Value: Displays the system-calculated construction value based on the entered information
Declared Value: Enter a manually declared construction value, if different from the calculated value
Select Save:

You can select Pick calculated or Pick declared, which will populate the project value field for you:

Pick Calculated: Apply the system-calculated value as the declared value
Pick Declared: Apply the entered declared value in place of the calculated value
Note:
When you save your work, the values selected and calculated are stored with the permit. If the underlying occupancy table rates change, those will not be reflected here. This is to show how the calculation was generated.
