Resident Portal Notifications Settings

Administrators will see a Notifications tab on the Resident Portal Settings page. From here, admins can choose which subscription lists to show in their Resident Portal as well as feature lists.

Add a Notification Link to a Third-Party Provider

  1. Navigate to the page with your embedded Resident Portal or access the stand-alone Resident Portal and sign in to your account

  2. Select Settings in the left-hand toolbar The Settings tab in the navigation menu of the Resident Portal.

  3. Click the Notifications tab Settings page highlighting the Notifications tab.

  4. Select + New Notification LinkNew Notification Link button on the Notifications tab.

  5. Fill out the link details Form for creating a new notification link with fields for URL, title, and description.

    • URL: Add the link that the tile should direct to

    • Section: This will be set to Notifications

    • Title: Add a title for the link (maximum of 100 characters)

    • Description: If needed, add a short description for the link (maximum of 1,000 characters)

    • Tags: Add relevant keywords to help a resident user find the content. Links can be filtered based on the tags assigned.

    • Featured in Portal: Check to feature on the Notifications tab and the Dashboard

  6. Click the Save button The Save button on the new notification link page.

  7. The custom link will now display on the Notifications tab A new notification link on the Notifications tab.


Feature a List

  1. Navigate to the page with your embedded Resident Portal or access the stand-alone Resident Portal and sign in to your account

  2. Select Settings in the left-hand toolbar The Settings tab in the navigation menu of the Resident Portal.

  3. Navigate to NotificationsSettings page highlighting the Notifications tab.

  4. Select Actions and choose Feature in Portal next to a listThe Feature in Portal option in the Actions drop-down menu next to a notification.

  5. The list will now have a bolded highlight bar on the left of the item in the front-end Notifications view A featured notification on the Alerts and Notifications tab.

  6. The list will also be added to the Featured Content section of the Dashboard A featured notification on the Dashboard.


Hide/Show a List

Note:

If you hide all available Notification lists, the Notifications tab will no longer be available for public users on the Alerts and Notifications page.

  1. Navigate to the page with your embedded Resident Portal or access the stand-alone Resident Portal and sign in to your account

  2. Select Settings in the left-hand toolbar The Settings tab in the navigation menu of the Resident Portal.

  3. Navigate to NotificationsSettings page highlighting the Notifications tab.

  4. To hide a list so it will no longer show in your Resident Portal, click Actions and choose Hide in PortalThe Hide in Portal option in the Actions drop-down menu next to a notification.

  5. The list will now have an X in the Visible column and it will no longer show on the Notifications page The X icon in the Visible column next to a notification list.

  6. To add the list back to your Resident Portal, click Actions and choose Show in PortalThe Show in Portal option in the Actions drop-down menu next to a notification.


Add Tags to a Notification List

  1. Navigate to the page with your embedded Resident Portal or access the stand-alone Resident Portal and sign in to your account

  2. Select Settings in the left-hand toolbar The Settings tab in the navigation menu of the Resident Portal.

  3. Navigate to NotificationsSettings page highlighting the Notifications tab.

  4. Select Actions and choose Edit next to a list The Edit option in the Actions drop-down menu next to a notification.

  5. Scroll down and type or select an existing tag The Portal Tags drop-down on the edit notification screen.

    Note:

    For integrated Notifications lists, the field will be called "Portal Tags". For links to third-party lists, the field will be called "Tags".

  6. Click UpdateThe Update button on the notification link screen.
