Authorize.net Card Present Transactions

This article will show you what it looks like to do a chip read or a card swipe transaction with Authorize.net and the BBPOS Chipper 2X.

 

Instructions

  1. Prepare for payment; the CivicPlus Pay Tray Application should activate
    Process charge.
  2. Insert your card into the top of the BBPOS Chipper
    Insert card.
    Note:     In the photo above, we are using the BBPOS Chipper in conjunction with a charging stand.
  3. If the chip fails to read 4 times, you will be instructed to swipe
    Please swipe.
  4. Use the slot at the back of the device to read the magnetic stripe on the card
    Magnetic stripe.
  5. If you have elected to prompt for signature, the signature box will appear
    Signature box.
  6. Instruct your customer to sign the authorization agreement
    Signature.
  7. Click Authorize
    Authorize.
  8. You should receive a message the transaction was approved or declined
    Transaction approved.
