Create a Recurring Event

Recurring Events are useful for meeting types that fall on a consistent schedule, such as monthly Council Meetings or bi-weekly Committee Meetings. Recurring event schedules are automatically set based on the associated event template and the start dates you select. This article will show you how to create recurring events.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the Events module:

    The Events module button in the dashboard's left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Select New Event:

    The green, rectangular New Event button below the User Menu.

    Note:

    You can also open the Create Event modal by selecting Create Event from the Quick Add Menu.

  4. Fill in the information fields:

    • Event Template: Choose an event template to base the recurring event on

      Note:

      Do no select One Time Event for this field. If One Time Event remains in this field, only one event will be created. You must click the Event template dropdown and select an existing event template with repeating occurences for the system to accurately schedule your events.

    • Event Name (required): Enter or edit the name for the recurring event

    • Notice: Edit or add any additional information about the recurring event, if desired

    • Recurrence Information: Auto-fills with recurrence details based on the frequency assigned to the selected event template

      Note:

      If the Recurrence Information section does not appear below the Notice field after you have selected an Event Template, the template you selected may not have repeat occurences set up. Please review and update the Event Template as needed.

    • Start Date (required): Select the date of the first occurrence of your recurring event

    • Start Time (required): Select the start time of your recurring event

    • Address: Add a street address for the event, if desired

    • City: Add the city in which the event will take place, if desired

    • State: Add the state in which the event will take place, if desired

    • Zip Code: Add the zip code in which the event will take place, if desired

    • Event Listing: View the list of upcoming event dates based on the selected event template and start date

      Note:

      If the Event Listing section does not appear below the State and Zip Code fields after you have entered a Start Date, the Event Template you selected may not have repeat occurences set up. Please review and update the Event Template as needed.

  5. Select Create Event:

    The green, rectangular Create Event button at the bottom of the Create Event modal.

    Note:

    You can also click the Create And Add New button to save this event and automatically start work on another new event.

  6. The recurring events have been created and added to the Events Module
