Customize the Public Engagement Suite Written Comment Pop-Up

Administrators for municipalities and organizations with the Public Engagement Suite enabled can change the character limit and edit the policies, procedures, and instructions that appear in the Written Comment pop-up in their Public Portal. This article will show you how to update the written comment settings.

Important Note

Public Engagement Suite settings can only be customized if the Public Engagement Suite add-on has been enabled. For more information or to enable the feature, please contact your Customer Success Manager or Account Manager.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site if you have not already:

  2. Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Settings option:

  3. Click the Events and Public Portal tile:

  4. Click the Portal Settings tile:

  5. Scroll to the Public Engagement Suite section:

  6. Update the Written Comment Character Limit if desired:

  7. Update the Written Comment Policies and Procedures Text if desired; residents must acknowledge this policy before submitting a comment:

    Notes:

    • Some policy and procedure examples include:

      • Comment rules

      • Meeting decorum

      • Profanity restrictions

      • Participation deadlines

    • You can use the paragraph formatting and text formatting tools to format the display of the policies and procedures text, as desired.

  8. Update the Written Comment Instructions if desired:

    Note:

    Some instruction examples include:

    • "Written comments must be submitted before the deadline."

    • "Speakers will be called in order of registration."

    • "Comments may be summarized in the meeting minutes."

  9. Click the Save Changes button to save your changes:
