Move an Item

The Move action allows you to remove an item from one agenda and move it to another. If you need to copy an item, use the Copy action.

Important Notes

  • You must have the “Item Actions – Move” permission enabled in your Security Profile to move an item.

  • Moving a section/item will automatically move all sub-items as well.

  • The Move Item action can only be used to move an item to a meeting that has not yet taken place. To move an item to a meeting in the past, you will need to temporarily change the event date to a date in the future, move the item, and then change the event date back.

  • The Move Item action can also be used to move unassigned items to future meetings. Simply locate the desired unassigned item using the search function or the Dashboard filters, then use the Actions menu to move it into place.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the Meetings module:

  3. Select the agenda that currently holds the item you wish to move:

  4. Select the desired agenda item:

  5. Click the Actions menu and select the Move option from the dropdown list:

  6. Fill in the information fields:

    • Select Agenda (required): Choose an agenda to move the item to, or leave this as the default “No Agenda Assigned” setting

    • Select Meeting Type (required): If “No Agenda Assigned” has been selected for the agenda, use this dropdown to indicate the Meeting Type the item applies to; this field will disappear if a specific agenda has been selected in the “Select Agenda” dropdown

    • Move Options: Choose to Regenerate Item Reports and/or Update the Item Layout for the affected agendas

      Note:

      The Move Options buttons will turn white when selected.

    • Message: Add a message or comment about the move, if desired

    • Sections and Items to Move (required):

      • Item (required): Update the name of the item, if desired

        Note:

        You can use the paragraph formatting and text formatting tools to format the display of the item name, if desired:

      • Move To (required): If a specific agenda has been selected, choose the section or item you want the item to be moved into or below; this field will only be displayed if a specific agenda has been selected

  7. Click the Move Items button:

  8. A green Success! notification will appear at the top of the page, and the meeting and agenda name will change to reflect the item's new location:
