Request Speaking Rights in the Board Portal

This article will show Board Members how to request Speaking Rights in the Board Portal during a meeting.

Important Note

Request-to-Speak is an add-on feature that is only available as part of our Live Meeting Manager functionality.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to the Board Portal if you have not already

  2. Join the meeting you wish to speak in and follow along on the agenda details page:An example Board Portal agenda details page.

  3. At the desired time, click the Request to Speak button:A green, rectangular Withdraw Request button in the bottom-right corner of the agenda details page above the white, rectangular Media tab.

  4. Click the Withdraw Request button at any time to relinquish your speaking rights:A red, rectangular Withdraw Request button in the bottom-right corner of the agenda details page above the white, rectangular Media tab.

  5. The Clerk will grant you a time duration for speaking rights

  6. When it is your turn to speak, you will appear as the Current Speaker and a timer will begin to count down:The current speaker and timer field at the bottom-left corner of the agenda details page above the blue, rectangular Agendas tab.

  7. Speak until you are finished or until time runs out; if allowed, request speaking rights again
