Vote on a Motion in the Board Portal

This article will show Board members how to vote on a motion in the Board Portal during a meeting.

Important Notes

  • Electronic Voting is an add-on feature that is only available as part of our Live Meeting Manager functionality.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to the Board Portal if you have not already

  2. Join the relevant meeting and follow along on the agenda details page:An example Board Portal agenda details page.

  3. At the appropriate time, the Clerk will initiate a vote and a Vote for Current Item popup will appear in the Board Portal:A Vote for Current Item dialog box that appears after a clerk has initiated a vote within the system.

    Note:

    If you do not see a "Vote for Current Item" popup when a vote is initiated, you can click the E-Vote button in the toolbar on any Minutes, Agendas, Notes, or Media page to prompt the popup to appear (the E-Vote button is not visible within the PDF Reader). For more information about our Manual Voting function, view our Board Portal Manual Voting Overview article:The blue, rectangular E-Vote button which can be clicked to trigger the manual voting function.

  4. Click a vote option:Yes, No, and Abstain vote options.

    • Yes: Vote in support of the motion

    • No: Vote in opposition to the motion

    • Abstain: Opt not to vote for or against the motion

  5. Click the Save button:A blue, rectangular Save button below the vote options.
