Add and Manage Templates

This article will show you how to add a template and relate it to module categories, modify an existing template, or remove a template.

Add a New Template

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules, select Site Tools, and then select Template Manager:The Modules drop-down menu expanded, on the Site Tools tab with the Template Manager option highlighted.

  3. Select the Templates tab:The Template Manager screen with the Templates tab highlighted.

  4. Click the Add Template button:The Template Manager screen on the Template tab, with the Add Template button highlighted.

  5. Fill in fields:The Add Template screen of the Template Manager, displaying fields, menus, and buttons for Interior Templates and Simple Templates.

    • Name: Name the template to match the DHP it's being created for

    • Interior Template: Appears for assigned categories within FAQs, Jobs, News Flash, and Staff Directory

      • Theme: Select Interior (if the DHP has a theme, select it here)

      • Banner(s): Select appropriate banners

      • Main Navigation: Copy the URL from an Interior page under the appropriate DHP and paste it here

      • Left Navigation: Use the same URL as Main Navigation

    • Simple Template: Appears for assigned categories within Calendars and Facilities

      • Theme: Select Simple or Create from Interior Theme

        • Preview: Click Preview to view a draft version of your template

      • Banner(s): Select appropriate banners

      • Main Navigation: Copy the URL from a Simple page under the appropriate DHP and paste it here (cannot be a module page)

        Note:

        If you don't have a Simple page you will need to create one. You can add the page beneath any of the DHP Navigation pages. Title 'Template Manager Page (Do Not Remove)' and select the page to be hidden. The page must be published.

  6. Select Save:The Add Template screen of the Template Manager with the Save button highlighted.

  7. After the template is created, move back to the Category Management Tab:The Template Manager screen with the Category Management tab highlighted.

  8. Select a Module:The Template Manager screen on the Category Management tab with the Calendar category highlighted.

  9. Select the Template needed on the appropriate Categories:The Template Manager in the Calendar module section, with the Template drop-down menu expanded and highlighted.

  10. Click Save Changes:The Search module with the Save Changes button highlighted.


Modify a Template

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules, select Site Tools, and then select Template Manager:The Modules drop-down menu expanded, on the Site Tools tab with the Template Manager option highlighted.

  3. Select Templates:The Template Manager screen with the Templates tab highlighted.

  4. Click Actions next to the template you want to modify:The Template Manager screen on the Templates tab with the Actions button for a template highlighted.

  5. Select Modify:The Template Manager screen on the Templates tab with the Actions menu expanded and the Modify option highlighted.

  6. Make the desired changes:The Template Manager Modify Template screen with fields, menus, and buttons displayed.

    • Name: Template title

    • Interior Template: Appears for assigned categories within FAQs, Jobs, News Flash, and Staff Directory

      • Theme: Select Theme

      • Banner 1 and 2: Select Banners

      • Main Navigation: Setup an interior page URL

      • Left Navigation: Setup a Homepage URL

    • Simple Template: Appears for assigned categories within Calendars and Facilities

      • Theme: Select Theme or Create from Interior Theme

        • Preview: Click Preview to view a draft version of your template

      • Banner 1 and 2: Select Banners

      • Main Navigation: Setup an interior page URL

  7. Select Save:The Modify Template screen with the Save button highlighted.


Delete a Template

Important Note:

Please exercise caution when removing Templates. If you delete a template, or a Layout page being used as a template, all pages using that template will experience errors. Depending on the template, this could break your entire site.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules, select Site Tools, and then select Template Manager:The Modules drop-down menu expanded, on the Site Tools tab with the Template Manager option highlighted.

  4. Click Actions next to the template you would like to delete:The Template Manager screen on the Templates tab with the Actions button for a template highlighted.

  5. Select Delete:The Template Manager screen on the Templates tab with the Actions menu expanded and the Delete option highlighted.

  6. Reply OK on the pop-up that asks Are you sure you want to delete this template?:The Template Manager screen with the Delete Template Confirmation pop-up window and the OK button highlighted.
