Create or Edit Existing Calendar Widget Style

Although it is possible to edit existing options, it is recommended that you not change any option sets that CivicPlus has created for you without first considering the overall impact. Making changes to these option sets may cause unintended changes in various areas of the . Instead, it is recommended that you create and name new option sets.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Modules and on the Site Tools tab, select Design Center navigate to design center

  2. Select Widget Manager widget manager

  3. Select the Calendar Widget Type select calendar

  4. Click the blue + sign to create a new option set create new option set

    • Or, to edit an existing option set, select the option set you would like to edit by clicking on it edit option_set

  5. If creating a new option set, create a name and click the Create Option Set button new option set name

    Note:

    All the instructions that follow will apply to modifying and creating the option set.

  6. Navigate through the tabs to make modifications

    • Header header

      • Text: Text for the header

      • Image: Click Choose Image to display an image in the header

      • Link: Choose to link to the related module categories or the module home screen

      • Display on Side: Click to display the widget header to the left of the items

    • Items items

      • Category: Select categories to display

      • Default Number to Display: How many events to display

      • Columns: Choose the number of columns to display

      • Column Alignment: Set the spacing/alignment of the columns

      • Bulleted List: Choose to display questions as a bulleted list

      • Truncate Description: Choose to truncate the description after a set number of characters

      • Group Events: Select to display group events by calendar, date, or not group events

      • Description: Check to display event descriptions

      • Date on Same Line: Choose to display the event date and description on the same line

      • Read on Link: Display the "read on" link after the event description

      • Display Location: Choose to display the facility location name

    • View All Link view all link

      • Display: Click to display a View All link

      • Text: Enter the View All front-facing text

      • Image: Choose an image to display for the View All link

      • Position/Alignment: Choose where to place the View All link

    • RSS Link rss link

      • Display: Select to display the RSS link

    • Footer footer

      • Text: Enter footer text

      • Image: Choose an image to display in the footer

  7. Click Save save

    Note:

    There is the ability to preview your options set. In order to preview, a category in the Items tab must be selected that has current calendar events. Also, in order to preview changes, you must click Save in order for the preview to refresh.
