Set Up OBS Streaming for CivicMedia

This article will show you how to set up Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) streaming in your CivicMedia module.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your website

  2. Navigate to Modules > Content > CivicMediaNavigate to CivicMedia.

  3. Create a Channel or select an existing one Select channel or add channel.

  4. Click the Broadcast Now! button Broadcast now button.

  5. Copy your Username and Password credentials Broadcast now credentials.

  6. Navigate to the TikiLive site and click Log InTikiLive site log in button.

  7. Enter the credentials you copied on step 4 and click LoginLogin button.

  8. Click the Broadcast Now button at the top Broadcast now.

  9. Select the applicable channel Select channel.

  10. Locate the Configure a 3rd Party Video Broadcaster section, select one of the (System and Hardware Requirements) icons and click Broadcasting SettingsBroadcast settings.

  11. Copy the RTMP Server Address and RTMP Stream Name and note them somewhere safe RTMP Server address and stream name.

    Note: This information is used to stream to the module, and if it falls into the wrong hands it could be used maliciously. Treat this information like a password!

  12. If you haven't already, download OBS for your operating system

  13. Once installed, open your OBS and click the Settings OBS settings button.

  14. Select Stream on the Settings pop-up Stream settings.

  15. Open the Service dropdown and select Custom...Service dropdown custom.

  16. In the Server field, enter the RTMP Server Address you copied in step 10 and add the RTMP Stream Name in the Stream Key field Server and stream key fields.

  17. Click ApplyApply button.

  18. Set up is now complete!
