This article will show you how to take your DHP live.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Ensure that Live Edit has been enabled:
    Municipal Websites Central header with Live Edit toggled to On.

  3. Make sure the globals for your new DHP have been either added to the new DHP page or exist under the current department section

  4. Navigate to Modules, then Site Tools, and then Site Map:The Modules drop-down menu, with the Site Tools tab expanded and the Site Map option highlighted.

  5. Expand the sections you need by clicking on the arrow to the left of the page title The Site Map page with arrow icons used to expand sections highlighted.

  6. Find the department that will be getting the DHP The Site Map page with the Departments expanded for view and the Police page highlighted.

  7. Find the new DHP Landing Page in the Feature Links section The Feature Links section of the Site Map page with a Hidden Police page highlighted.

  8. Drag the new DHP landing page up to sit right above the current department landing page on the site map The Site Map page with a Hidden Police page being drag-and-dropped into the Departments section.

  9. Move subpages of the current department to be subpages of the new DHP using the site map drag and drop functionality The Site Map page with subpages being moved from one section to another.

  10. To verify that the globals are pulling the correct DHP layout, click to open each global page The Site Map page with a Police Department Header Package expanded and the Our Department subpage highlighted.

  11. On the opened Global page, navigate to the Layout tab and ensure the Layout is set to Interior and the Theme and Banners match the DHP The Live Edit pane on the Layout tab with the Layout, Theme, and Banner drop-down menus highlighted.

  12. Click Save Layout ChangesThe Save Layout Changes button of the Layout tab in the Live Edit pane.

  13. Repeat steps 8 to 10 for each global

  14. Navigate to the DHP landing page The hidden Police Department Header Package page on the Site Map.

  15. On the Properties tab, click the Hidden drop-down menu and select the blank space to unhide the page:The Properties tab of the Live Edit pane with the Hidden drop-down menu expanded and no choice selected.

  16. Click Save Page ChangesThe Save Page Changes Button of the Properties tab on the Live Edit pane.

  17. Open the old department page The Site Map page with a secondary Police entry highlighted.

  18. On the Properties tab, check the Hidden option and add "Do Not Delete" to the Menu TextThe Properties tab of the Live Edit pane with the Menu Text altered and the Hidden drop-down set to 'Hide from all site menus only'.

  20. On the old page, select Add New Version and create a linked page to the new DHP The Live Edit pane on the Versions tab, with the Add Version button highlighted.

  21. Navigate back to your DHP landing page and check that the department global settings are showing up in the global section The landing page of a DHP with the global navigation items highlighted.

  22. Update layout for mega menus, if applicable

  23. Navigate back to the site map and move the old page to Feature LinksThe Site Map page with the Feature Links section expanded and a Do Not Delete Police page highlighted.

    Note:

    Refresh the page to make sure you're moving the correct page and not the new DHP.
