Update the Custom 404 Message

This article will show you how to update your Custom 404 Message.

Important Note:

Custom 404 messages do not take effect immediately. The page will need to go through an app pool recycle for the page to be updated. This recycling happens automatically every night.

Instructions

  1. Log in to your Web Central site

  2. Navigate to the Modules, select the Site Tools tab, and click Custom404:The Modules drop-down menu expanded on the Site Tools tab, with the Custom404 option highlighted.

  3. Edit the Custom 404 Message:The Custom404 Message field highlighted with a message prefilled.

  4. Click Save and Publish:The back-end of the Custom404 site tool with the Save and Publish button highlighted.
