Use Wildcards in Redirects

Prev Next

The Redirects module gives you the ability to set up a Wildcard redirect.

For instance, if you want to create a redirect that links to your Contests page, you could set it up with the * (asterisk) symbol to create a wildcard.

  • Type /contest* into the Link From field. Anytime someone types /contest, /contests, /contestinfo, etc., it always redirects to the desired URL. The example URL with an asterisk in the Link From text entry field.

This is also an effective approach if you want your redirect to be two words. Instead of multiple redirects, you can always incorporate a wildcard in one redirect to ensure the user routes to the right place in the most efficient way possible.
