Once a document has been uploaded to NextRequest, you can view and search within the document, all without leaving NextRequest.
Manage & Open a Document
Sign in to your account
Select the All Requests tab
Open the request that the document has been uploaded to
Select the Documents tab
Hover over the document and select the three-dot icon to view all edit options
Change Visibility (Eye icon): Adjust the visibility option for the document
Download (Downward arrow icon): Download the document to your computer
Move to folder: Choose to add the document to a folder
Redact file: If needed, redact parts of the document
Rename file: Change the name of the document
Delete file: Choose to remove the document. If the document is deleted it will no longer be accessible by the requester, the public, or internal staff.
Select the document to open it
Select a pencil icon in the left column to make further adjustments
Edit the document info, as needed
Title: Rename the file
Description: Add a brief description of the file
Document date: Set a date for the document
Folder: If you change the folder it will update the folder everywhere including on the associated request page
Click the Save button
Navigate Within the Document
Use the navigation arrows in the upper-right of the document viewer
Double arrows: Jump to the first page or last page
Single arrows: Jump to the previous page or next page
Page number: You can also enter the number of the page that you want to go to in the box in the navigation bar
View the Document
Click the View button in the upper-left of the document viewer and select an option
Thumbnails: Pulls up a navigation panel that contains thumbnails of the document pages.
Magnifier Tool: Allows you to click anywhere in the text to show a close-up of that area.
Rectangle Zoom: Highlight any section of the text to zoom in on that section.
Rotate Document: Rotates all pages in the document 90 degrees clockwise.
Rotate Page: Only rotates the current page by 90 degrees clockwise.
Search Within the Document
Click the Search button above the document viewer
Select a search option from the toolbar to narrow the search
Search Options: Show or hide the list of search results
Search Results: The search results appear in a list in the order of where they appear in the document.
Search box: Enter a search term, then click the Search button to find all instances of that term in the document.
Previous Searches: Show a list of previously searched terms and phrases.
Match Exact Word or Phrase (Quotation Marks): The search will match the exact word or phrase entered.
Note: If this option is not selected the search will return any instances of any word entered into the search box.
Match Case: Search will only return instances where the case (uppercase/lowercase) matches what you have entered in the search box.
Whole Word: Search will only return instances of the whole word. If this option is not selected, then the search will return any words that include the search term in it.
Begins With: Search will return any words that start with the text in the search box.
Ends With: Search will return any words that end with the text in the search box.
Use Wildcards: Search will interpret any asterisks (*) in the search box as wildcards.
Proximity Search: Search will perform a Proximity Search and return all instances where the terms in the search box are within the specified distance of each other. Proximity Searches must be in the format “Term1 Term2 ~Number”, where Term1 and Term2 are the terms you search for and Number is the maximum number of words that can be between them. So for example the search “Florida law ~2” will return the instance “Florida’s public records law” but “Florida law ~1” will not.
Zoom Within the Document
Scroll to the bottom of the document and select a zoom option:
Pan: Click and drag the document to move what part of the document is visible
Zoom Out: Zoom the page to appear smaller
Zoom Percentage: Expands a list of percentage options for zoom.
Zoom In: Zoom the page to appear larger.
Fit Content: Fits the document to the width of the document viewer.
