Alt Text for Images

Alt Text can be added for images uploaded into the location, facility, activity, and session Description fields. Additionally, alt text can be added for images in the Catalog Tab Content and Rental Rules fields. Alt Text is an image’s description that is included in the code of a web page which may be displayed in place of the image when it cannot be loaded, read by a screen reader used by visually impaired people, or used by search engines.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to Recreation Management

  2. Navigate to the applicable Activity, Session, Location, Facility, or Catalog Tab

  3. Upload the image into the Description, Tab Content, or Rental Rules fields by clicking the Image Upload Icon. Toolbar displaying various formatting options for text editing in a document with the Image Icon highlighted.

  4. Fill out the fields on the Insert/Edit Image pop up - The Alt Text goes in the Alternative description field.

    • Upload: Choose this to upload an image from your computer.

    • Source: The origin, creator, or location where the image was obtained.

    • Alternative description (Alt Text): text included in the code of a web page that describes the appearance or function of an image, which may be displayed in place of the image when it cannot be loaded, read by a screen reader used by visually impaired people, or used by search engines.

    • Width: Width of the image in pixels.

    • Height: Height of the image in pixels.

  5. Click the Save button
