Decrease Existing Inventory for Point of Sale Items

This article will show you how to change the quantity of an Inventory Entry. Adjusting inventory might be used if an item was damaged, expired, or went missing. Recreation Management does not support negative inventory entries but rather allows staff to burn inventory if a decrease is needed.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to POS ItemsPOS items option in the left navigation menu.

  2. Select the Inventory By Location tab or Inventory Log tab Inventory by location or Inventory Log tabs.

  3. Select Add Inventory EntryAdd inventory entry button.

  4. Enter the Location, Item, and the decreased Quantity amount.  Create Inventory Entry fields.

    Note:

    Do not enter a negative number. If you want to decrease the quantity by 1, simply enter 1. If a Cost for that item has previously been entered, the cost will auto-populate. This can be deleted or overridden if needed.

  5. Select a Burn Entry Type that represents the reason for the decrease.  Inventory Entry Type Burn Reason

  6. Select Save New Inventory Entry. Save New Inventory Entry Button.
