Membership/Activity Discounts

This article will show you how to create a Membership/Activity Discount. This discount can be assigned to sessions or facilities and is often used for participants who are registered for a membership or other qualifying activity.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Recreation Management

  2. Navigate to the Configuration tab, and then Financial Settings, then select Discountsconfiguration, financial settings, discounts in left navigation menu

  3. Click Create Discount create discount button

  4. Add a Discount Namediscount name field in the discount settings

  5. Select Membership/Activity Discount from the Discount Type drop-down menu Discount Type field select membership activity discount

  6. Fill out the remaining fields member discount fields

    • One Time Discount: This option will be checked automatically to indicate that the discount can only be used once per checkout

    • Exclusive Discount: Check if you do not want this discount to be combined with other discounts; other discounts will be removed when this discount is added

    • In House: Select to indicate if the discount is only available internally

    • Online: Check to make this discount available online

    • Applies To: Choose if this discount applies to Anyone Who Registers, Non-Residents Only, or Residents Only

    • Default Amount: Enter the default discount amount, either in dollar or percentage format

    • Default GL Code: Select the applicable General Ledger code from the drop-down menu

    • Instructor Applicable: Include this discount in instructor fees when using a percentage of registration fees

    • Auto-Billing Applicable: Click this checkbox to determine whether this discount is included in recurring auto-billing charges for memberships

  7. Click Save New Discountsave new discount button

  8. You can now assign the discount by navigating to the Pricing tab of the session that will receive the discount pricing tab

    Note:

    For Facilities, navigate to the Addons/Discounts tab addons discounts tab

  9. Click Add DiscountDiscount drop down menu - member discount

  10. Select your Membership/Activity Discount from the drop-down member discount menu option

  11. If needed, adjust the amount of the discount or the GL code gl code and amount fields

  12. By default all registrations will be set to use the discount, narrow down the eligibility using the Categories, Activities, and Sessions drop-downs to assign the activity or membership that the user must already be enrolled in to receive the discount filter

    Note:

    This should not be the session you are adding the discount to (what the user will actively be enrolling in).

    • Example: In this scenario, we are adding a discount to a swimming lessons session and setting the eligibility for the discount to users who have already purchased an Aquatics Membership.

  13. Click Save Session or Save Facility save session
