Transfer an Account Between Account Owners

Transferring an account allows another archive user () to maintain the account connection.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your Archive

2. Navigate to the Configure tab:

3. Next to the Account Owner who currently owns the social media account, click Connect Accounts:

4. Click the Transfer icon next to the desired social media account:>

5. Follow the instructions to select the recipient Account Owner (will differ depending on the social media network):

   • Facebook and Instagram: Facebook Pages and Instagram Accounts are connected to the archive through an authorized Facebook profile. Transferring these accounts from one Account Owner to another will break their connections from the original Account Owner's Profile, allowing the recipient Account Owner to use their own Facebook Profile to reconnect the accounts.

     1. Select the recipient Account Owner from the dropdown:

        Note:

        Only select the checkbox to Also transfer the login account associated with this account if you want to maintain the account connections using the current authorizing Facebook Profile, under the recipient Account Owner.

     2. Click Transfer Owner:

   • LinkedIn Accounts: Similar to Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn Pages are connected to the archive through an authorizing LinkedIn Profile. Unique to LinkedIn, after clicking Transfer, you will need to select a new authorizing LinkedIn Profile. The recipient Account Owner is dependent on who has this LinkedIn profile under their user. The recipient Account Owner may need to first run through the LinkedIn connection flow. Once their Profile is in the archive, you will be able to select them from the dropdown in the Transfer Account pop-up.

     1. Select the LinkedIn Profile taking over account connection from the dropdown and click Transfer Owner:

   • All Other Social Media Accounts: To transfer YouTube, X, Nextdoor, TikTok, Pinterest, Vimeo, or Flickr accounts, simply select the Account Owner recipient. The account(s) will maintain their connection status when transferring:

   • Web Snapshots: Web Snapshots, our web archiving feature, is a single account type that must be owned by an archive user who is both a System Administrator and an Account Owner. Once you ensure the recipient user has both archive user roles, you can select them from the Transfer window dropdown:
