Add a Vehicle Violation

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Code Enforcement, expand Violations, and select Add Vehicle Violation The expandable menu labeled Code Enforcement, then the menu labeled Violations, and then the option labeled Add Vehicle Violation.

  3. On the pop-up screen, Search for a vehicle and click Add The button labeled Search, then the URL labeled Add.

    Note:

    If the vehicle is not in the system, select Add Vehicle to add and associate it with the violation.

  4. Review and adjust Vehicle Owner Information as needed The drop-down menus and text entry fields under the Vehicle Information header.

    • Location: Enter the location of the violation

    • Violation Status: This field controls the process of the record

    • Assigned Inspector: Select an inspector from the list to assign to this record. This inspector does not always have to be the same one. It does not need to match the inspector assigned to an inspection record in the complaint's inspection tab. The assigned inspector will be notified by email. They will also get a notification on their dashboard. This field also controls the name and title that print on many forms, letters, and placards related to the record.

    • Violation Type: Choose the type of record. Also, select the right sub-category. These choices should best describe the violation.

    • Certified Mail Package/Receipt Number: Add the package/receipt number, if applicable

    • Officer Safety Issue: Note whether or not there is a safety issue for any officers

    • Violation Notes: Add notes for the violation record

    • Violation Date/Time: Enter the date and time of the violation

    • To Be Resolved by Date: Set a date for when the violation will need to be resolved

  5. Fill out the Citation Service section The options and text entry fields under the Citation Service header.

    • Personal service: Check and add the date/time if you served a copy of the citation personally

    • Certificate of mailing: Check and add the date/time if you served the copy of the citation by mail

    • By (Fire Marshal Staff name): Enter the name of the fire marshal staff member

    • Signature Box: Electronic signature of the staff member

    • Date: Enter the date of the signature

  6. Click Save Violation The button labeled Save Violation.

  7. Fill out additional tabs, as needed:

  8. Click Save Violation to save any changes The button labeled Save Violation.

  9. To print a record of the violation, click Print Menu and configure print options The button labeled Print Menu.
