Bounce Details Added to Notifications History

Notifications Admin provides additional information for bounced email messages to help users troubleshoot and resolve delivery problems.

When viewing a bounced message in Sent Messages, Message, Email Activity, admins can click into Message Log Details to see the Bounce Type and Diagnostic Code.

Admins can use the Bounce Type in conjunction with the Diagnostic Code to quickly understand whether the issue is permanent or temporary and take the appropriate action.

Bounce Type

What it Means

Undetermined

We received a bounce but couldn’t determine the reason.

Permanent (Hard Bounce)

A permanent failure; the recipient marked the message as spam or otherwise indicated not to send them additional messages. User will be marked as suppressed, and future messages will not be sent to this recipient.

Transient (Soft Bounce)

A temporary issue; delivery may succeed later. Subtypes indicate specific causes like full mailbox, content, or size issues.
