Streamlined Navigation Buttons Across Item Subpages

Navigation has been improved across Item subpages. We have replaced the “Save Item” button with consistent, workflow-friendly navigation options. This allows users to move smoothly through agenda items and approvals.

The Next Item and Next Approval buttons on an example Item Approvals page.

Key Details

  • New Buttons Added:

    • Next Item: Navigates to the next agenda item

    • Next Approval: Navigates to the next item requiring approval

  • Replaces Save Item Button: Removed from view-only subpages where edits are not typically made:

    • Item Timeline

    • Item Approvals

    • Item Tasks

    • Item Written Comments

  • Consistent User Interface Placement: New buttons match the styling and position used on the Item Fields page

  • No Save Required: Navigation does not prompt for saving, as these pages are intended for reference only  

New [CURRENT_DATE] Merge Tag for Document Templates

A new [CURRENT_DATE] merge tag is now available in Agenda and Meeting Management Select templates. This displays the current date at the time of document generation, providing a flexible alternative to a published date field.

Key Details

  • New Merge Tag: [CURRENT_DATE] dynamically outputs the system date when the agenda, minutes, or packet document is generated  

  • Format: Displays in long-form |  Month Day, Year (for example, January 1, 2025)

  • Available Across Templates: Works consistently in all Froala-supported templates where merge tags are used

  • Use Case: Offers a reliable reference date for documentation, approval tracking, and public-facing agendas

Additional Item Merge Tags Added to New Merge Tag Framework

A new group of item-related merge tags is now supported within the updated merge tag system. These allow for more flexible and detailed template generation across agendas, minutes, and packets.

  • Improved Template Customization: Tags now resolve using the latest merge tag implementation. This ensures better reliability and formatting consistency across document exports.

  • Expanded Use Cases: Enables enhanced visibility into approval chains, signatures, reviewer details, and item creation metadata.

WCAG 2.2 Admin Portal Improvements

Improved Text Scaling and Responsive Layout in Agenda and Meeting Management Select Admin

To support WCAG 2.2 compliance and ensure usability for low-vision users, the Agenda and Meeting Management Select Admin interface has been updated to support proper text scaling and responsive layout adjustments across Meetings-related pages.

Key Details

  • Zoom Support Up to 400%: All admin interface elements now scale properly up to 400% browser zoom without breaking layout or losing readability

  • Responsive Redesign: Content now flows into a single column layout when needed, minimizing the need for horizontal scrolling  

  • Dynamic Layout Adjustments: Containers, text, and navigation elements resize dynamically to remain accessible across screen sizes and zoom levels

  • Improved Page Behavior: Enhancements made to Items, Agendas, Minutes, and Events views to support accessibility  

  • Vertical Scrolling Introduced Where Needed: Tables and content areas now support vertical scrolling to preserve visibility and functionality

  • Screen Reader and Keyboard Navigation Ready: Updates align with assistive technology use cases, including screen readers and keyboard-only navigation

Added Table Captions for Screen Reader Accessibility

To support WCAG 2.2 compliance (1.3.1  – Info and Relationships), meaningful <caption> elements have been added to tables across key Admin views. This helps screen reader users understand the   purpose of each table.

  • Improved Accessibility: Screen readers announce the table's title, providing context for non-visual users

  • WCAG Alignment: Meets 1.3.1 guideline by ensuring relationships and content structure are conveyed programmatically
