Optional Real-Time Vote Display on Live Meeting Manager

Users now have the option to display individual votes on the public-facing Live Meeting Manager display page in real time. This helps enhance transparency during live meetings.

Voting results for purchasing approvals are currently in progress for council action.

Option Real-Time Vote Display | Key Details

  • Customizable Setting: A new setting has been added to Custom Settings to enable or disable real-time vote display.

    • Added custom settings to "Vote_Results_Real_Time."

      • If enabled, votes appear on the public display page as each member enters them.

      • If disabled (default), votes appear only after the Clerk finalizes the motion outcome.

  • No Change to Outcome Logic: The official motion result (Passed/Failed) is only shown after the Clerk saves the vote outcome.

  • Customer Control: This setting is available to CivicPlus-managed customers. Contact Support to have this feature enabled. It is off by default to preserve the current behavior.

  • Public Transparency: When enabled, viewers can see votes cast in real time. This helps support open governance.

Audible Alert for Speaker Timer Expiration on Live Meeting Manager

Users now benefit from an audible alert when a speaker’s preset time has expired in the Live Meeting Manager interface. This makes managing public comments and time limits easier without constant manual oversight.

Current speaker is John Trend with one second remaining for the presentation.

  • Automatic Audio Cue: A default sound plays automatically when a speaker's timer reaches zero.

  • Improved Awareness: Both users and attendees are alerted when speaking time has ended.

  • Consistent Playback: Alerts play across all supported devices for clear and consistent notifications.

  • Optional enablement: This feature can be enabled and disabled in Custom Settings by the Support Team and will be disabled by default. Contact Support to have the setting switched on.

Expanded Motion Character Limit

Users can now enter longer, more detailed motions of up to 250 characters. This ensures accurate recording and display of complex legislative actions without truncation.

Expanded Motion Character Limit | Key Details

  • Increased Character Limit: Motion fields now support up to 250 characters (previously 100). This allows for more comprehensive entries.

  • Responsive Display: Motion text displays cleanly across all key interfaces, including:

    • Display Page

    • Public Portal (including mobile view)

    • Minutes Page on Board Portal

    • iPad and tablet views

  • Carousel Compatibility: The Vote Results carousel continues to auto-scroll. It adapts smoothly to longer motion text.

  • Overflow Handling: Longer motions gracefully wrap or include a “Read More” option. This maintains usability and layout integrity.

  • Export Support: Motion text is preserved in exported documents (PDF, Word, print versions of minutes).


WCAG 2.2 Admin Portal Improvements

Multiple improvements were made to the Admin Portal as we work towards compliance with WCAG 2.2 Compliance Standards. Updates in this release include the correction of colors to meet contrast ratios on the Events, Item, and Meeting pages.
