This article will show you how to view and download meeting media in the Public Portal.

View Embedded Media in the Public Portal

Note:

If your municipality or organization has embedded YouTube videos in the Public Portal, playback functionality will appear and work slightly differently from what is shown in the instructions below. For more information about watching YouTube content, see YouTube's Getting started | Video viewing basics video.

  1. Navigate to your municipality or organization's Public Portal:An example Public Portal homepage.

    Note:

    The layout and display of your municipality's Public Portal will depend on the customizations that have been implemented.

  2. Navigate to the desired event:An example meeting in the Events List.

  3. Click the Meeting Media tab:The Meeting Files tab.

  4. Click the Play button (triangle icon) in the center of the media player to start playing the meeting media:A large gray Play button.

  5. Use the media player controls at the bottom of the viewing window to manage your media viewing experience :The media player controls.

    • Play button (triangle icon): Start playing the meeting media

    • Pause button (two vertical lines icon; not pictured): Temporarily stop the meeting media from playing

    • Rewind 10 Seconds button (left arrow and 10 icon): Rewind the meeting media 10 seconds from its current position

    • Volume button (speaker icon): Click the Volume icon to mute the meeting media, or hover over the Volume button and click and drag the slider up or down to raise or lower the current volume

    • Current Time display: See how much of the video has been played compared to its total run time

    • Downloads button (down arrow and horizontal line icon): Click the Downloads icon to view the files that can be downloaded for this media, if applicable; clicking the name of a file in the Downloads popup will download the file to your device

      Notes:

      • Downloads may not be available for all media. If downloads are not available, the Downloads icon will not be displayed.

      • Click the X icon in the top-right corner of the Downloads pop-up to close the pop-up:The gray Close button in the top-right corner of the Downloads popup.

    • CC (Closed Captioning) button: Click the Closed Captioning icon to view the Closed Captioning options for the media, if applicable; clicking a caption option in the Closed Captioning popup will make that selection active

      Notes:

      • Closed Captioning may not be available for all media. If captions are not available, the Closed Captions icon will not be displayed.

      • Click the X icon in the top-right corner of the Closed Captioning popup to close the popup.The gray Close button in the top-right corner of the Closed Captioning popup.

    • Full Screen button (two diagonal arrows icon): Click the Full Screen button to toggle the media player to a full-screen display

      Note:

      Once you have entered the Full Screen, you can click the Exit Full Screen button to return the media player to its previous size:The Exit Full Screen button in the lower-right corner of the screen when viewing the media player in Full Screen mode.

    • Seek bar (horizontal bar): Click and drag the seek handle (circle icon) to the left or right on the seek bar to manually move backward or forward within the video

  6. Click a section or item within the Timestamps sidebar to jump to that part of the media, if applicable:An example item in the Timestamps sidebar.

    Note:

    Timestamps may not be available for all media. If timestamps are unavailable, times will not be displayed to the right of the section and item names.

  7. When the meeting media has ended, you can click the Replay button in the center of the media player to restart the playback if desired:A large gray Replay button.


View Linked Media in the Public Portal

  1. Navigate to your municipality or organization's Public Portal:An example Public Portal homepage.

    Note:

    The layout and display of your municipality's Public Portal will depend on the customizations that have been implemented.

  2. Navigate to the desired event:An example meeting in the Events List.

  3. Click the Meeting Media tab:The Meeting Files tab.

  4. Click the external media link :A Public Portal Meeting Media tab with an external media link URL.

  5. You will be redirected to a website with the meeting's media
