Add a Favicon to Your Site

A Favicon is a small icon that appears to the left of your website name in the tabs of your browser. It is also utilized in mobile website shortcuts, bookmarks, Windows tiles, and webpage shortcuts.

Important Notes

  • Only one favicon can be added to a website. A single website cannot have different favicons based on pages.

  • It may take up to 24 hours for the favicon to appear in your site cache.

Favicon Requirements

  • You will obtain the best results if the image is square (1:1) and the resolution is 260px (pixels) or higher.

  • You can use a third-party site to generate your image into an ICO (Icon) file if needed:

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your website solution

  2. Click to expand the Modules menu:The Module's menu highlighted on the administrator bar.

  3. On the Modules menu, click the Site Tools tab:The Site Tools tab, highlighted in the Modules menu.

  4. From the Site Tools tab options, click Site Properties:Site Properties, highlighted in the Module menu's Site Tools tab.

  5. Locate the Favicon/Add Favicon section and click the Choose File button:The Add Favicon's 'Choose File' button in the Site Properties module.

  6. Select the .ICO format file on your computer that you wish to use as your favicon:A favicon file highlighted in a Windows system browser.

  7. Click the Save Changes button:The Site Properties module's 'Save Changes' button.

  8. The new favicon will display:The CivicPlus black and red 'CP' favicon in a Chrome browser tab.

    Note:

    It may take up to 24 hours for the favicon to appear in your site cache.
