Add Input Fields to a Form

This process will show you how to add a short answer field to a form, where the user can input information.

Important Note:

Iframes are not supported within Form Center fields

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner | Publisher | Author

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Create or Modify a Form

  3. Add a Short Answer Field Type to your form:A Short Answer field being drag-and-dropped on to a form in the Form Center module.

  4. Fill in the input fields:The Properties tab of a Short Answer field in the Form Center module is highlighted.

    • Label: Name the field

    • Instructions: Provide a brief description of how to answer

      Note:

      The Froala WYSIWYG editor has been added to all Form Center Instructions fields, so now text can be easily formatted to be consistent with site styles without needing to write HTML. Iframes are not supported.

    • Width: Select a width for the field

    • Required: Select to mark this field as a required question

    • Max Length: Enter a maximum number of characters per response

    • Limit width to max length: Select to limit the width of the field to the max length

    • Placeholder: Temporary text

  5. Select Save Changes:The Short Answer field type on the Properties tab with the Save Changes button highlighted.

  6. Scroll to the top and click Save or Save and Publish:The Save and Publish button of the Form Center module within a form is highlighted.
