Add & Manage FAQ Categories

This article will show you how to create and manage a category in the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) module.

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner

Create an FAQ Category

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select FAQsModules menu with FAQs selected.

  3. Select Add Category Add category button.

  4. Fill in the information fields Category fields.

    • Category Name: Create a category name

    • Start Display: Enter a display date to auto-publish the category. A blank date will immediately publish the category.

    • End Display: Enter an end display date to auto-unpublish. A blank date will leave the category published indefinitely.

    • Number to Display: Maximum number of FAQs that display on a related page

    • Show Archives: Leave as the default

    • Template: Choose a template you would like for your category

    • Permissions: Set permissions at the category level

      • View: May view the live side only

      • Author: Submit new items, modify/delete unpublished items

      • Publisher: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/unpublish published items, and publish/reject submitted items

      • Owner: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/unpublish published items, publish/reject submitted items, create/modify categories and assign category permissions

  5. Scroll to the top and select Save or Save and Publish Save or save and publish buttons.

Modify a Category

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select FAQsModules menu with FAQs selected.

  3. Select Choose an Action and then Properties next to your desired category Properties option in drop-down.

  4. Modify the fields Modify category fields.

  5. Click SaveSave button.

Delete an FAQ Category

Important Note:

You cannot delete a category that has questions in it.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select FAQsModules menu with FAQs selected.

  3. Find the category you would like to delete, select Choose an Action, and then UnpublishUnpublish Category.

  4. Scroll down to the Unpublished Categories section, select Choose an Action, and then DeleteDelete Category.

  5. Select OK on the dialog box that says, Are you sure you want to delete this category?Delete Category Confirmation.
