The Pages Widget lists all of a page's subpages, typically used for pages that are more categorizations of the subpages rather than pages with content.
Pages Widget Formats
There are four formats for the Pages Widget that you select in the widget options. Each option also allows you to show either just the parent pages or to also show their sub-pages (depth two).
Format 1: Shows the page name and description with a "Link to page" link underneath
Depth Two: All second-level pages will just include the name and a link to that page
Format 2: Shows the page titles and descriptions
Depth Two: Shows the second-level page titles and descriptions
Format 3: Shows just the page titles for the main page
Depth Two: Shows just the titles for the second-level pages
Format 4: Shows the page title and description and includes an image
Depth Two: Shows the second-level page titles and descriptions
