Create an Intranet Calendar

You can set intranet permissions for the Calendar module.

Important Note:

  • You must remove guest viewing permissions at the module level in order to remove them from an individual calendar level.

  • Do not use Save and Push Down when you set permissions for pages and modules as it will change the permissions for all users.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select Calendar:The expanded Modules menu, with the Calendar module highlighted.

  3. Select the Permissions tab:The Calendar module back-end, with its 'Permissions' tab highlighted.

  4. Uncheck the Guest permissions:The Calendar permission tab's list of module-level permission options, with the 'Guest' unchecked.

  5. Click Save:The Save button highlighted in the Calendar's Permissions tab.

  6. Click Add Calendar:The 'Add Calendar' button highlighted in the Calendar module's back-end.

  7. Fill in the information fields:A new calendar's blank information fields and default property settings.

    • Calendar Title: Display the name of the calendar

    • Description: Describes the calendar module if you choose to allow subscribers to this calendar

    • iCalendar Feed: Allows you to add events from a feed to the Calendar module using a valid ICS (iCalendar Standard) URL

    • Template: Controls the design that will appear for items associated with this category

    • Department Header Search: Searches from within the selected Department Header will only display results from within this category (and others with the same assigned Department Header)

    • Email List: Will allow Admin users to send out notification emails from this calendar

    • Allow Subscribers: Will allow users to subscribe to the calendar in the Notify Me module

      Note:

      You must have the Notify Me module for this function.

    • Allow SMS: Will allow users to subscribe to SMS notifications

    • Update Integration Hub: Sends all Calendar Published item changes to CivicPlus Integration Hub to allow integrations.

    • Add / Modify Item RSS Behavior: Choose the default RSS behavior for the category when calendar items are added or modified.

  8. Under the Permissions section, uncheck the Guest permissions:The new calendar's 'Permissions' section with the 'Guest' option unchecked.

  9. Check the permissions for your intranet groups:The new calendar's 'Permissions' section with the 'Intranet - Front End' option enabled.

  10. Click on the preferred save option:The Calendar module's back-end save options for new calendars, 'Save Changes' and 'Save and Publish'.

    • Save Changes: Will save the work as an unpublished draft

    • Save and Publish: Will save the work and publish it for viewing
