Export the History Log

This article will show you how to Export results in the History Log, which will download a copy of your desired results to your computer.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your website solution

  2. Navigate to the History Log module: The History Log can be found on the list of the site tool modules.

    1. Click the Modules dropdown menu

    2. Click the Site Tools tab

    3. Select History Log

  3. If desired, apply filters to narrow your results: The History Log's filter options.

    Note: Review the Filter History Log Results article for more information on the filter options.

  4. Click the Export button: The History Log's Export button.

  5. The TXT file downloads automatically in Google Chrome: The History Log's download file in the Google Chrome download queue.

    • If another web browser is used, the download process may look different

      Note: The TXT file is named HistoryLog.txt.

  6. Navigate to the location the file is saved to on your computer

  7. Open the file

    Note: By default, the TXT opens in Notepad's text editor. If you do not have Notepad, you can import the TXT file to Microsoft Excel to open the file.

  8. View the results: An example of the exported History Log TXT file open in Notepad.

    • Module Name: The module the entry belongs to

    • Title/Item: The name of the item

    • Date Modified: The date and time the action happened

    • Modified By: The name of the person who performed the action

    • Action: The action taken

    • Parent ID Type: The location where the action took place

    • Parent ID Number: The numerical ID of the location where the action took place

    • Item ID Type: The type of item that was acted upon, such as a document, question, folder, or category

    • Item ID Number: The numerical ID of the item
