Import Calendar Items

Prev Next

This article will show you how to import Calendar items. You can use the Import feature to import events to multiple calendars at one time. You can add new events and/or edit existing events. You can create new calendars/categories straight from the .CSV file.

The Import feature will not send a message to subscribers. If you want to send a notification, you must bulk unpublish and then re-publish. Based on permissions, you can relate to other calendars and import new calendars. The Import function will not import recurring events.

Important Notes:

  • The imported file must be of type .CSV. A copy is attached to this article's Files section.

    • For the most recent version of the file, we recommend clicking the “Example File” link in the Import Events dialog window:
The Import Events pop-up window in the Calendar module with the Example File link highlighted.

  • Row one of the CSV file must include the label of the field.

  • To modify an existing item, an Event ID must be added.

  • To create a new item, leave the "Event ID" column blank.

  • To add the imported events to a calendar widget, a "1" must be added to the "Show in Widget" column.

  • The following fields are not included in the Import:

    • File Upload

    • Location
