This article walks through how to view and manage archives for your News Flash module. You can choose to set archived items and categories as visible to or hidden from the public. Expired items and categories can be sent to your archives automatically, or you can manually archive them.
If you change a live news item, then the ‘original’ version will move to the News Flash archives. Then, once the news item expires, that version will also move to the archive.
Configure Archive Settings for a News Flash Category
The property ‘Show Archives’ determines what the default setting is for each item created in that News Flash category.
Important Notes
This setting controls the default state for archives in the category, however, a user creating an item in the category could manually change the archive setting for that item.
If someone manually chooses to archive a news item before it expires, they have a choice to make it ‘Public” or ‘Hidden’ at the time they are manually archiving it.
Who can use this feature?
System Administrator | Owner
Navigate to Modules and, on the Content tab, select News Flash.

Find the category you want to modify. Select Choose an Action, and then Properties.

Scroll down to the Show Archives section and select Yes or No from the drop-down.

Yes: Each item in the category, by default when created, will be set to Show Archives = Yes. That means when an item expires, it will be archived unless a user manually changes the setting when creating the item.
No: Each item in the category, by default when created, will be set to Show Archives = No. That means when an item expires, it won’t go to the archives unless a user manually changes the setting when creating the item.
Click the Save button.
