You can enable or disable category-level options to manage what goes in the News Flash RSS feed. This allows you to control if items should always be sent to the RSS feed, never be included, or if the system should allow a user to choose each time an item is added/modified.
Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select News Flash
Select the Properties tab
Scroll down and check or uncheck Enable RSS Management Options
Note: If this setting is unchecked, all items will automatically be sent to the RSS feed. If the setting is enabled, you will be able to control which items appear in the RSS feed for a specific category.
Scroll up and click Save Changes
If you enabled RSS Management Options, you will now be able to choose the RSS behavior when you modify or add items in a News Flash Category
Include in RSS Feed: If selected, all items added and/or modified in that category will automatically be included in the RSS feed
Do not include in RSS Feed: If selected, items for that category will not be included in the RSS feed
Always ask: If selected, a pop-up will appear every time a user adds and/or modifies an item in the category that asks if it should be included in the RSS feed
