Page Properties Overview

In Live Edit, you have access to the Properties tab. The properties tab allows you to change menu text, hide pages, and choose if you would like to make the archives viewable. This article gives instructions on how to navigate through the options in the Properties tab on a page.

Instructions

  1. Log in to your site.

  2. Navigate to your desired page and ensure that Live Edit is On:CivicPlus interface showing Municipal Websites Central with live editing feature activated.

  5. Adjust the fields, as needed:

    • Menu Text: The link text that is displayed in the site's menus. Click in the field and enter the new text if you wish to change the menu textA menu text field labeled 'Home' for website navigation settings.

      Note:

      This also generates the URL for the page, and it should be as short as possible.

    • Always Use Page Title for Menu Text: This option ensures that the Menu Text automatically matches the page title when submitted or saved page versions are published.Checkbox option for using the page title as menu text in website settings.

      Note:

      If you select this option, you can not change the Menu Text in the Properties tab. You must change the Page Title in the Version Options.

    • Page Language: Select the language of the page. The default language is English. This option makes it possible for user agents and assistive technologies to present content according to the presentation and pronunciation rules for that language. This applies to graphical browsers, screen readers, braille displays, and other voice browsers

    • Hidden: Select an option to hide this page from displaying in a search, site menus, site map, or mega menusA dropdown menu of options for hiding elements from site menus and search features.

      Note:

      To unhide a page, unselect any of the options.

      • Hide from all site menus: Hide the page from all site menus and the Site Map

      • Hide from all site menus, but show in sitemap: Select to show the Hidden Page in your sitemap

      • Hide from mega menus only: Hide the page from Pages widgets or mega menus, but not secondary navigation or the site map

    • Archives Visible: Make archived versions visible to the public

    • Hide Page Title: Hide the page or version title for this page

    • Show Last Updated Date and Time: Check to show the date and time the content was last updated at the top of the page

    • Department Header: Select to make this page a Department Header

      Note:

      If enabled, and the Search Widget is configured to allow it, users will only be able to search Department Header-related content.

    • Section Tracking: If enabled, this page and all sub-pages will be tracked as a section within Google Analytics. This allows you to track data for a page that is not a Department HeaderA checkbox option for enabling section tracking in analytics settings.

    • Enable SAML Login: Depending on how your site is set up, you may or may not see this option

  6. Click Save Page Changes to finalize any changes Buttons for saving changes and canceling actions on a webpage interface. The save changes button is highlighted.
