Network Testing

If the issue is network-related, the following steps can help us determine the potential issues. The following steps require additional technical experience. You may want to contact local IT staff for access or assistance.

Tasks

• Determine Your Site's Production Domain

• Gather Relative Network Speed Information

• Create a .HAR File

• Use the Performance Test File to Gather Information (Windows Only)

• Use traceroute or pingpath on the Site's Production URL and/or

  • Traceroute Windows

    Notes:

    • Traceroute is a software tool used to display the path and some basic information about the network path between two addresses. To run this software, you will need access to a Terminal Window or Command Prompt.

      • Availability will depend on your Operating System.

    • Windows users will use the command "tracert".

  • Traceroute Mac

    • MacOS or Linus systems will use the "traceroute" command.

  • Pingpath Windows

    • You can also use the pingpath command, if available.
