Create a Webform

Webforms are a robust feature that allows you to build highly customizable submission forms for your Web Open site. The purpose of this article is to cover the basics of creating, building, and editing Webforms. While many of these tasks are required to create a Webform, adding Pages and/or Layouts to your Webform is optional.

Create a Webform

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Expand the Administration menu on the Dashboard files

  3. Click View All Webforms The hyperlink labeled View All Webforms.

  4. Click Add Webform The button in the top left corner labeled Add webform with a plus sign.

  5. Title the Webform The text entry field labeled Title.

  6. Complete the Webform fields, if desired

  7. Click Save The green button labeled Save at the bottom of the page.

  8. Add Layouts, Pages, and/or Elements to the Webform

Add Element(s) to a Webform

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the desired Webform

  3. Click Add Element The button in the upper left above the column titles labeled Add element with a plus.

  4. Locate the desired element and click Add Element The button labeled Add element.

    Note:

    Click Show Preview to display previews of each element type
    The button labeled Show preview.

  5. Title the Element The text entry field labeled Title below the Element Settings header.

  6. Complete the Element fields

  7. Click Save The green button labeled Save.

  8. Click Save Elements The green button labeled Save elements at the bottom of the page.

Add Page(s) to a Webform

Note:

This task is optional, and is not required for a Webform to function properly

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the desired Webform

  3. Click Add Page The button labeled Add page with a plus sign in the upper right.

  4. Title the page The text entry field labeled Title under the Element Settings header.

  5. Complete the Page fields

  6. Select your Save option The green button labeled save, or the red button labeled Save plus Add element.

    • Save: Save the page fields

    • Save + Add Elements: Save the fields, and then Add Elements

Add a Layout for a Webform

Note:

This task is optional, and is not required for a Webform to function properly

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the desired Webform

  3. Click Add Layout The button in the upper right labeled Add layout with a plus sign.

  4. Enter the Key The text entry frield labeled Key under the Element Settings header.

  5. Select an Align item setting The drop down menu labeled Align items under the Flexbox Settings header.

  6. Complete the Layout fields

  7. Select your Save option The green button labeled Save, or the red button labeled Save plus Add element.

    • Save: Save the page fields

    • Save + Add Elements: Save the fields, and then Add Elements

Add Email Notifications and Handlers to a Webform

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the desired Webform

  3. Select the Settings tab The tab labeled Settings in the upper part of the screen.

  4. Select the Emails / Handlers tab The tab labeled Emails slash Handlers beneath the Settings tab in the upper part of the screen.

  5. Click Add Email or Add Handler The buttons labeled Add email with a plus sign or Add handler with a plus sign in the upper right corner.

  6. Complete the fields

    Note:

  7. Click the Save button The green button labeled Save at the bottom of the Email fields.

  8. Click Save handlers The green button labeled Save handlers at the bottom of the Email / Handlers tab page.

Add a Confirmation Type to a Webform

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the desired Webform

  3. Select the Settings tab The tab labeled Settings.

  4. Select the Confirmation tab The tab labeled Confirmation.

  5. Complete the Confirmation Fields

  6. Click the Save button The green button labeled Save at the bottom of the Confirmation fields.

Duplicate a Webform Item

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the desired webform and click Build The red button labeled Build under the Operations column header.

  3. Locate the desired Layout, Page, or Element and select the Action Menu The downward facing arrow to the right of the button labeled Edit.

  4. Click Duplicate The button labeled Duplicate under the Edit button in the Action Menu.

  5. Complete the fields

  7. Click Save elements The green button labeled Save Elements at the bottom of the page.
