Create a News Page

  1. Click Create News The button labeled Create News.

  2. Title the News page The text entry field labeled Title.

  3. Select a Microsite The dropdown menu labeled Microsite.

  4. Complete the Basic Information fields

  5. Click the News tab The left-hand navigation tab labeled News.

  6. Complete the News fields

  7. Add additional items, if desired

  8. Publish the page

  9. Click SaveThe Save button.

Edit a News Page

  1. Navigate to the News page

  2. Click Edit The button labeled Edit in the bottom left corner of the page, to the right of View.

  3. Make the necessary edits

  4. Publish the page

  5. Click SaveThe Save button.

Copy a News Page

  1. Navigate to the News page

  2. Click Clone The button labeled Clone in the bottom left corner of the screen, to the right of the View, Edit, and Revisions buttons.

  3. Make any edits as necessary

  4. Publish or unpublish the page

  5. Click Save
    The Save button.

View News Page Revisions

  1. Navigate to the desired News page

  2. Click Revisions The button labeled Revisions in the bottom left corner of the page, to the right of the View and Edit buttons.

  3. View the list of previous revisions

Revert a News Page to a Previous Version

  1. Navigate to the desired News page

  2. Click Revisions The button labeled Revisions in the bottom left corner of the page to the right of the View and Edit buttons.

  3. Select Revert to revert the News publication to a previous version The button labeled Revert, in the Operations column, on the right-hand side of the page.

  4. Select Revert to confirm the revision The button labeled Revert to the left of the button labeled Cancel.

Publish or Unpublish a News Page

  1. Navigate to the desired News page

  2. Click Edit The button labeled Edit in the bottom left corner of the page to the right of the View button.

  3. Select the Publishing tab The left-hand navigation tab labeled Publishing.

  4. Complete the Publishing options The Published, Publish on, and Unpublish options in the Publishing tab.

    • Published: Check or uncheck the box to publish or unpublish, respectively

    • Publish On: Manually enter a date and time, or select a date and time via the dropdowns to publish the event at a later date The calendar icon in the Publish on text entry field, and the date on the calendar.

    • Unpublish On: Select a date and time to automatically unpublish the event

  5. Click Save

Delete a News Page

Important Note

Only Site Admins can perform this function. This action cannot be undone.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the desired News page

  2. Click Delete

  3. Click Delete to confirm the deletion

    Note:

    This action cannot be undone

Basic Information Fields

The text entry fields in the Basic Information tab.

  • Title: Enter the title for the News page

  • Microsite: Select the appropriate microsite

  • Summary: Enter a summary of the Event

    Note:

    This field is only available by clicking Edit Summary
    The URL link labeled Edit summary.

  • Body: Create the body of the News page

  • Short Description: Enter a brief description to appear in search results both on the site and in other search engines such as Google

News Fields

The News Fields found in the News tab.

  • News Date: Select the date on which the news item will be posted

  • News Type: Select a news type to assist in result filtering

    • Public Notice

    • Press Release

    • Article

    • Announcement: Designate the news item as an announcement, and create a banner across the top of every page of your site to draw attention to the item. Please view the Create and Manage Announcements article for more information.
