Convert a PDF to a Form

When building a form, you can upload an existing PDF to generate elements from. You can then customize the form to suit your specific requirements.

Important Notes

  • Known limitations include:

    • Pages & Sections: The feature does not currently create pages or sections as per the current PDF configuration

    • Table content: Depending on the PDF being converted the feature may not convert tables in the PDF

Account Setup

Once Convert a PDF has been enabled for your account, you will need an Account Owner or a Team Member with the Roles: Manager permission to navigate to the Account screen to complete the AI Consent.

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the Workspace menu and click Settings

  3. Select Account

  4. Click the pencil icon next to Form Composer on the AI Features card

  5. Specify which environments you want to enable Form Composer on, and click Save
    The checkboxes next to the environments that have Form Composer enabled with a Save button highlighted in the bottom right corner.

    Note:

    Once Convert PDF is enabled for an environment, it is enabled for all Team Members who have access to that environment.


Instructions

  1. Create a new form The plus sign icon in the bottom right corner of the forms screen.

  2. On the Builder tab, select Convert PDFThe Convert PDF icon on the Builder tab.

  3. Select the PDF you wish to use and click OpenOpen file dialog showing the Parks and Recreation Volunteer Application ready to open.

  4. The Form Composer sidebar will open and outline the plan for converting your PDF to a form Form Composer interface displaying the plan for a contact form titled 'Contact the City'.

  5. The form will then display the fields it converted from the PDF, make adjustments as needed Parks and Recreation volunteer application form with fields for personal information.

    Note:

    Review a list of known limitations that you may need to address after converting the PDF. You can submit feedback on this feature by filling out the PDF Conversion Feedback form.

  6. Click Save

  7. Click Preview to view your form
