Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for a permit to generate once it is placed in the Background Jobs queue?

The time it takes depends on how many line items are in the permit. These include reservations, add-ons, and discounts. For large permits with over 3,000 line items, it may take anywhere from a few seconds to 5 minutes or more after the job starts.

The job-start time is not the same as the job-creation time. Job-start time is the time at which the queued job is picked up and executed by the cron job.

Is there any way to cancel a job?

Currently, there is no way to cancel a scheduled Background Job.

Does the system recognize duplicate jobs that are created?

The Permit Editor can’t tell the difference between two duplicate jobs when they are first created. However, when the second job runs, it will detect any conflicts with existing permits or reservations. These conflicts will appear in a warning or error message.

Can I edit a job that is in the queue?

No, a submitted job cannot be edited. The permit can be later adjusted to reflect the changes.

Does the consolidated list still work for Permits with Background Jobs?

Yes, the consolidated list will still work. By default, large permits are saved as Consolidated Lists. Receipts with large reservations are generated as consolidated receipts.

Do the saved reservations made in the Permit Editor integrate with Musco/SkyLogix with the times that are entered?

The lighting integration requires a transaction for the two systems to communicate and book lighting times.
