Edit a Comment on a Request

Organizational users can edit internal and public comments within the internal system.

Comments made by members can now be edited within 7 days of being posted.  An “Edited at Date/Time” label will be added to the comments that have been modified, and an audit log (paper trail) will be available to SeeClickFix 311 CRM administrators.

Important Notes

  • Editing a comment does not resend an update to anyone following the request.

  • Internal personnel cannot edit public comments; they can only edit internal comments.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the Requests tab:The CRM home page, with the Requests Tab highlighted.

  3. Select the desired request:The home screen with a Pothole request highlighted for selection.

  4. Locate your comment that you would like to modify and select Edit in the top right-hand corner of the comment box:The Request Status pane expanded with a Comment Edit button highlighted.

    Note:

    If an Edit option does not appear, the available time to edit has expired (within 7 days of the post).

  5. Make desired changes to the comment:The Request Status pane expanded with a comment highlighted and opened for editing.

  6. Select Update:A comment open for editing with the Update button highlighted.
