This article will show you how to add a resource or business item to your Resource Directory.

Add a Resource

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner | Publisher | Author

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select Resource DirectoryModules menu with Resource Directory selected.

  3. Select Add Item Add item.

  4. Fill in the information fields Item information fields.

    • Resource Name (required): Create a name for the item

    • Contact Name: Person to contact at the resource

    • Address Boxes: Enter address information if you want to link to a map

    • Link to map: If you placed the actual address in the address boxes and choose yes to link to map the user will be able to view a map

    • Phone & Fax: Enter the phone and fax numbers

      • Format: 123-456-7890

    • Email: Place the exact email in this box

    • Show Email As: Mask email addresses with specific words instead of listing out the email address

      Note: This prevents web crawlers from obtaining email addresses from your site.

    • Link: Create a link, if applicable

      • Example: https://animalhospital.com

    • Link Text: Display text for the link

    • Description: Allows you to further describe the business/resource

      Note: The Resource Directory will allow up to 550 characters to be placed in the description area. If you attempt to add any more than that the module will not allow you to save the item.

    • Show Archives: Select Yes or No to display the archives

    • Resource Directory Categories: Select the categories you want to place the business/resource; you can place them in as many categories as you wish or add a new category

      Note: If you add a category here, it will erase all information you have not saved on this screen.

  5. Scroll up and select a save option   Save or save and publish buttons.

    • Save: Saves your item, does not publish

    • Save and Publish: Saves and publishes to the live side

Modify a Resource

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner | Publisher

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select Resource DirectoryModules menu with Resource Directory selected.

  3. Select the Resource that you want to modify Select a resource.

  4. Modify the fields you want to change Modify information fields and options.

    • Resource Name (required): Modify the name

    • Contact Name: Modify the name

    • Address 1/2: Modify address line

    • City/State/Zipcode: Modify additional address information

    • Link to map: Choose yes or no

      Note: Location will display on the map using the given Address 1, City, State, and ZIP code information.

    • Phone: Enter the main contact phone number

    • Fax: Enter fax number

    • Email: Enter the main email address

    • Show Email as: What to display as the email

    • Link: Add a link

      • Open: Select new or same window

    • Link Text: What to display as the link

    • Description: Add a brief description

    • Show Archives: Choose yes or no

    • Resource Directory Categories: Select the categories to associate with the Resource

  5. Click Save at the top right of the page  Save button.

Delete a Resource

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select Resource DirectoryModules menu with Resource Directory selected.

  3. Locate the Business/Resource you want to delete Select resource or business.

  4. Select Choose an Action and then UnpublishChoose an action menu unpublish.

  5. Select Choose an Action and then DeleteChoose an action menu delete.

  6. Select OK on the pop-up asking, Are you sure you wish to delete this resource? Confirm deletion pop-up.
