Add & Manage Archive Center Categories

Categories in the Archive Center allow for organization and ease of access to archived documents on your site.

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner

Add an Archive Center Category

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Select Modules and on the Content tab, select Archive Center:Modules menu, Archive Center.

  3. Select Add Category:Add category.

  4. Fill in the information:Fill out category fields.

    • Archive Name (required): Name of the category

    • Start Display: The default is blank and indicates the Archive Category will be available immediately upon publication; enter a display date to auto-publish the category

    • End Display: The default is blank and indicates the Archive Category will remain published until unpublished manually; enter an end display date to auto-unpublish

    • Show Archives: Leave as the default

    • Permissions: Setting permissions at the category level is suggested

      • View: May view the live side only

      • Author: Submit new items, modify unpublished items

      • Publisher: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/unpublish published items, and publish/reject submitted items

      • Owner: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/unpublish published items, publish/reject submitted items, create/modify categories and assign category permissions

  5. Select a Saving option:New category save options.

    • Cancel: Will delete your work

    • Save: Will save the work as an unpublished draft

    • Save & Publish: Will save the work and publish it for viewing

Modify an Archive Center Category

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Select Modules and on the Content tab, select Archive Center:Modules menu, Archive Center.

  3. Select Choose an Action and then Properties next to a category:Category properties.

  4. Make the modifications:Edit Category fields.

    • Archive Name: The name of the category

    • Start/End Display: Choose the dates you would like your category to be displayed

    • Show Archives: Leave to default

    • Permissions: Set permissions for this category

      • View: May view the live side only

      • Author: Submit new items and modify/delete unpublished items

      • Publisher: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/delete published items and accept/reject submitted items

      • Owner: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/delete published items, accept/reject submitted items, create/modify categories and assign category permissions

  5. Select Save:Save category.

Delete an Archive Center Category

Important Note:

All items in an Archive Category must be unpublished and deleted before you can delete the Archive Category.

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Select Modules and on the Content tab, select Archive Center:Modules menu, Archive Center.

  3. Select Choose an Action and then Unpublish next to a category:Choose an action, unpublish.

  4. Select Choose an Action and then Delete:Choose an action, delete.

  5. Select OK on the dialog box that says, Are you sure you want to delete this category?:Okay pop-up window.
