This article will show you how to import sessions in the Activities module.
Who can use this feature?
System Administrators | Owners | Publishers | Authors
(Authors cannot publish sessions)
Format Rules
Important Note:
Sessions for an Activity with the same name as another Activity will fail to import
Sessions for a Facility with the same name as another Facility will fail to import
If the Session ID is populated on the file, it will update the existing session
If the Session ID is blank, it will create a new session
Required: Add the activity names in the correct categories
You are importing sessions, so the activity needs to exist
To help reduce the possibility of errors while importing, add the facility in the Facilities module first. Make sure the name on the import file matches exactly, or use the location ID (can be found by the number in the copy link action).
Importing as unpublished will allow sessions with future registration dates.
The import only includes Simple Times
The imported file must be of the CSV type
Use the Example Import Template (CSV) attached to this article or the Import screen’s Example File to create your file
Row 1 in the CSV file must include the label of the field
Start Date/End Date: Must be in MM/DD/YYYY format
Session Times: Must be provided as a comma-separated list in the following format: Monday 1:30 PM - 3 PM, Wednesday 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
